WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.-- A Whitley County pharmacy is taking steps to fight the meth problem. The Corner Prescription Shoppe in Williamsburg requires a doctor's prescription for all medicine containing pseudoephedrine.
Pharmacist Michael Bordes says it's an ethical decision. He says meth is such a problem in the area that he wanted to do what he could to cut the supply.
Bordes made the move a few years back and says most customers are supportive. He says he's likely lost some business along the way, especially in the beginning.
State lawmakers had talked this past session about making pseudoephedrine available only by prescription. The measure faced stiff opposition and failed to pass.
